" As parents, Scouts is great for our son and daughter because of the wide range of activities they complete. Each week is different. It’s the only club where they learn life skills which will help them academically and has a huge part of building their self confidence. The leaders put so much effort into planning and we are very grateful for that seeing how happy our son and daughter are being a part of it."

How to join?

It;'s easy!

1) Contact a leader and arrange for your child to visit.

2) Come and visit for a week or two and see how your child likes it.

3) If your child want to join, download a Young Person Information Form.

4) Complete the form and email to our Group Administrator Jenny

5) We will process your paperwork and ask you to set up your monthly direct debit.

6) Ask Group Leader Steve to order you the relevant uniforms, or buy it from the Scouts store.

7) Once you have your uniform we can then invest your child within a couple of weeks, and they will officially be a member of 1st Gosfield Scout Group!

How do we plan term activities?

As part of our leader roles, in our leader meetings we try to make sure the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts have an activity programme that covers the values and methods of scouting:

Values:

Integrity - We act with integrity; we are honest, trustworthy and loyal.

Respect - We have self-respect and respect for others.

Care - We support others and take care of the world in which we live.

Belief - We explore our faiths, beliefs and attitudes.

Co-operation - We make a positive difference; we co-operate with others and make friends.

Methods:

Enjoy what they are doing and have fun.

Take part in activities indoors and outdoors.

Learn by doing.

Share in spiritual reflection.

Take responsibility and make choices.

Undertake new and challenging activities.

Make and live by their Promise.
